Managing SMSF Details and Accessing Features Online
If you’re looking to manage your self-managed super fund (SMSF) details and access specific payment and notification features online, it’s important to understand where these details are held and how you can access them.
When you link the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) online service for individuals and sole traders to your myGov account, you can manage a variety of personal tax and super affairs. This includes updating personal contact details, lodging personal tax returns, and managing personal PAYG instalments. However, this online service is specifically designed for personal tax and super management, which is why you might find certain features unavailable for your SMSF within myGov.
For managing the PAYG instalments and other affairs of your SMSF online, you need to use the Business Portal. Although your SMSF is not a business, the Business Portal is intended for use by non-individual entities, including SMSFs.
